Everybody is free to act as they like. If a group of Latino girls were raised to dress and act a certain way, it is a cultural issue and should not be ridiculed by anybody. I firmly believe we all have the right to do what we feel is right, and others should not interfere with that.

The second step to having healthy boundaries is to see that love should be the motivating factor why we have to have healthy boundaries. We do not build healthy boundaries because we are afraid. We may be tempted to think that setting aside one's boundaries is always a charitable thing to do. But this may not be the case. It is good to explore your own motivation. See if your "good" kind of tolerance or forbearance for people is really out of love or simply because you are afraid of getting hurt. Maybe you are simply afraid to lose the sense of peace that currently exists among your relations. It is possible that this is just a false peace-the kind of "peace" that simply is the absence of conflict, a conflict that may even be needed.
Well, there are many different situations when it comes to boundaries. But always remember they are important to live a healthy, productive life.
